Public Health Ontario (PHO) intends to award a one-year contract to Life Technologies, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, for service and preventative maintenance of specific molecular PCR and Sanger sequencing instruments used in their laboratories across Ontario. The contract covers maintenance of proprietary Thermo Fisher platforms including QUANTSTUDIO 5, QUANTSTUDIO 7 FLEX, SIMPLIAMP Thermo Cycler, VARIOSKAN LUX 30, and 3500xL Genetic Analyzer. PHO considers Life Technologies the sole provider capable of meeting these requirements but is open to other suppliers demonstrating capability through a Statement of Capabilities.
