The City of Garland is seeking competitive sealed proposals for construction services to expand and upgrade its Fire Administration Support Services & Training (FASST) facility at 1500 Highway 66, Garland, TX. - Estimated construction budget: $750,000 (including $25,000 contingency) - Government buyer: City of Garland, Procurement and Contracts Division - Scope of work includes: - Construction of a new 975 sq. ft. addition to the Fire Administration and Training Facility - Site work, demolition, concrete paving, structural steel, masonry, roofing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection - Installation of a fully automatic sprinkler system and expansion of the Siemens Cerberus PRO - FC901 fire alarm system (OEM: Siemens) - Mechanical systems: 12 electric radiant heaters (33 kBtu/h each), 1 electric duct furnace (29 kBtu/h), 1 split system cooling unit (23 kBtu/h), and 1 electric instantaneous water heater - Specialty equipment: motorized roll-up insulated metal doors with card reader, stainless steel industrial sinks and tables, heavy duty wire shelves and carts, steel bollards - ADA-compliant sidewalks and barrier-free ramps, reinforced concrete driveway and pavement - Notable requirements: - Use and maintenance of Projectmates project management software (contractor-provided license) - Compliance with prevailing wage rates, 2015 IBC, ADA, and Texas Accessibility Standards - Provision of bid, performance, payment, and two-year maintenance bonds - Special inspections and adherence to site-specific geotechnical recommendations - Unit pricing for soil replacement, pier depth, and pier casing - Alternate bid for radiant heater installation in the storage/apparatus bay - OEM highlighted: Siemens (for fire alarm system expansion) - No other specific OEMs required for other equipment
