NASA is seeking to procure 255 Intermet Radiosondes for the SHADOZ long-term ozonesonde measurement network. - Sole source procurement intended for INTERNATIONAL MET SYSTEMS INC, the only identified OEM for these radiosondes - Radiosondes will support ongoing ozone profile records for satellite validation and climate studies - Total quantity: 255 units - 55 units to be shipped to US Space Force personnel in Melbourne, FL - 200 units (two types) to NOAA SHADOZ colleagues in Boulder, CO - Radiosondes must be compatible with existing SHADOZ ground data systems and used at SHADOZ stations in the tropics - Managed by NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) with performance at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) - NAICS code: 334519 (Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing) - NASA invites capability statements from other organizations, but has determined INTERNATIONAL MET SYSTEMS INC as the sole provider unless a competitive alternative is identified - Delivery required by 31 August 2026, covering approximately a one-year supply

Description

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for 255 Intermet Radiosondes for SHADOZ Network. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to INTERNATIONAL MET SYSTEMS INC: 4767 Broadmoor AVE SE STE 7 | Grand Rapids, MI 49512 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that INTERNATIONAL MET SYSTEMS INC is the sole provider of 255 Intermet Radiosondes for SHADOZ Network

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334519.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. Central Standard Time on 7/27/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
