Description

The amendment would allow the use of SNF Inc.'s FLOPAM AN 934 SH, a polyacrylamide flocculant, in the high-pressure slurry ablation (HPSA) process at abandoned uranium mine waste sites. The NRC staff has issued a generic environmental assessment and a finding of no significant impact, supplementing the 2025 generic EA for the license. The amendment aims to improve the separation of solid materials from process water, enhancing uranium and thorium concentration in fines concentrates and reducing radionuclide deposition on the ground.
