Description

The American Museum of Natural History has completed an inventory of 55 associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). These objects have been determined to have a cultural affiliation with the Delaware Nation, Delaware Tribe of Indians, and the Stockbridge Munsee Community. The inventory includes various artifacts collected primarily from Croton Point, New York, dating back to excavations in 1899. Repatriation of these objects may occur on or after August 21, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the museum's authorized representative.
