OSHA is proposing to revise the Cadmium standards to reduce compliance burdens, allow for the use of more up-to-date technology, and improve the comprehensibility of the requirements for respiratory protection programs. The proposal aims to better align the Cadmium standards with OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard. Following consideration by OSHA's Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH), the rulemaking record is reopened for an additional 30 days for public comment. Comments must be submitted by August 21, 2026.
