This notice concerns the intended repatriation of cultural items by the William S. Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the William S. Webb Museum of Anthropology, University of Kentucky (WSWM) intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of unassociated funerary objects and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. A total of 14 unassociated funerary objects are involved, including faunal remains, an awl splinter, and dog remains excavated from the Ward Site in Kentucky. The repatriation may occur on or after August 21, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be sent to the museum's authorized representative.
