Description
The Michigan History Center has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified human remains representing at least one individual and eight associated funerary objects, including silver brooches. The remains and objects have been culturally affiliated with several Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of these items may occur on or after August 21, 2026. The notice provides contact information for repatriation requests and details the consultation and determination process.
