This opportunity involves the City of Galveston, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), seeking construction services for major intersection improvements at Seawall Boulevard & 33rd Street and FM 3005 & 75th Street. - Government Buyer: - City of Galveston, Department of Finance Purchasing Division - Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Traffic Operations Division - Project Scope: - Construction and enhancement of traffic signals at two major intersections - Installation of vehicle and pedestrian signal heads, traffic signal cables, steel pole assemblies, detectors, and screw-in anchor foundations - Installation of fiber optic/communication cables, ADA-compliant curb ramps, safety lighting, and related civil works - Removal of existing concrete sidewalks, curbs, and supports - Installation of new conduit, electrical conductors, ground boxes, and signage - Products/Services Requested: - Traffic signal controller assemblies (Henke TS2 Cabinet or approved equal) - Vehicle detection and sensing systems (Notraffic or approved equal) - Combination video/radar detection devices (Notraffic or approved equal) - LED luminaire heads, NEMA load switches, MMU2 SmartMonitor, GPS receivers, and battery backup units - Internally lighted street name signs (Duralight JXM-STN Series or approved equal) - Fiber optic cable and patch panels - Notable Requirements: - All materials must be pre-qualified or approved-equal per TxDOT standards - Coordination with Houston Transtar for system operations - Maintenance of operational status for the existing Computerized Transportation Management System (CTMS) during construction - Compliance with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permitting for certain activities - Encouragement of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), HUB, women, and minority-owned business participation - OEMs Highlighted: - Notraffic (vehicle detection and sensing systems) - Henke (traffic signal controller cabinets) - Duralight (internally lighted street name signs) - Quantities and part numbers are specified for each product line item, including signal heads, cables, poles, and detection systems.

Description

The City of Galveston is soliciting sealed proposals for a contract to perform intersection improvements at 33rd and 75th and Seawall.
