Description

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is withdrawing NUREG/BR-0058, Revision 5, "Regulatory Analysis Guidelines of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission," and NUREG/BR-0184, "Regulatory Analysis Technical Evaluation Handbook." The NRC will continue to prepare regulatory analyses for rulemakings and other regulatory actions consistent with the principles of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-4, "Regulatory Analysis," but is discontinuing issuance of related NRC-specific guidance documents. This action is effective July 21, 2026, and is in response to Executive Orders aimed at deregulation and agency accountability.
