This opportunity is for reroofing services at the historic UTE Look Tower in Ashley National Forest, Utah, managed by the USDA Forest Service. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service, Ashley National Forest, Intermountain Region (Region 4), CSA Intermountain 8 - OEMs and Vendors: - CeDUR (specified as the synthetic cedar shingle product or approved equal) - Products/Services Requested: - Removal and disposal of existing cedar wood shingle roofing system - Installation of multi-width synthetic cedar shingle roofing system (CeDUR or approved equal) - Includes synthetic cedar ridge caps, fasteners, and accessories - Installation of roofing felt underlayment (ASTM D 226 or ASTM D 4869, Type I) - Installation of self-adhering ice shield underlayment (ASTM D 1970, minimum 40 mils thick) - Installation of galvanized steel flashing and custom-fabricated sheet metal flashing/trim (roof edge, counterflashing, drip edges, vent-pipe flashings) - Fabrication and installation of a matching stove pipe sleeved flashing piece - Mobilization and selective demolition services - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Roofing system must match the appearance, color, texture, and thickness of natural wood shakes - Compliance with historic preservation standards - Work at high elevation requiring telescopic boom lifts - All materials and installation must comply with Specification Section 073129 and manufacturer’s instructions - Small business set-aside; firm-fixed price contract - Experience with cedar and synthetic cedar shingle roofing required

Description

This project consists of the reroofing of the historic UTE Tower on the Ashley National Forest. B. Work includes: 1. Remove and dispose of existing cedar wood shingle roofing system. 2. The existing plywood sheathing to remain. 3. Remove & reinstall the lightning protection rod, lightning protection cables across the roof, clamps & fasteners across the roof, and appurtenances across the roof. 4. Install a multi-width synthetic cedar shingle roofing system as specified in Specification Section 073129 SYNTHETIC CEDAR SHINGLES, and as per manufacturer’s instructions, to include matching synthetic cedar ridge caps on each of the 4 ridges. 5. Work includes the installation of the roofing felt and self-adhering ice shield underlayment over the entire roof, the flashing, the synthetic shingles, the synthetic ridge caps, and all necessary fasteners and accessories. Flashing shall be galvanized steel, no sheen, mill finish. 6. Metal Work: Fabricate and install a matching stove pipe sleeved flashing piece, to match existing material and dimensions. Within that new sleeved flashing piece, reinstall the salvaged stove pipe w/ flashing to match
