This opportunity is for the design, supply, and installation of a comprehensive fire detection and suppression system at the Highway 59 Transfer Station, a 15,000-square-foot recycling facility operated by the Merced County Regional Waste Management Authority (MCRWMA). - Government Buyer: - Merced County Regional Waste Management Authority (MCRWMA), under the Merced County Association of Governments - Products and Systems Requested: - Infrared thermal imaging cameras for continuous temperature monitoring and automated hot-spot detection - High-definition visual spectrum cameras for video verification and event recording - Industrial-grade smoke detection and air sampling systems - Intelligent detection analytics and control software for abnormal heat signature identification and event logging - Local audible and visual notification devices, including fire alarm control panels and remote notification capability - Water storage system (minimum 750 gallons, 150 GPM for at least 5 minutes) - Dedicated fire pump system with automatic controls and freeze protection - Suppression distribution system with corrosion-resistant piping, valves, and seismic bracing - Suppression discharge equipment (deluge water spray nozzles, water cannons/monitors, high-volume water mist systems, targeted suppression nozzles, automated monitor systems) - Integrated control and monitoring system for centralized operator interface and event history - Services Required: - Engineering and design (site evaluation, hazard assessment, system design, and documentation) - Electrical work (power distribution, control/communication wiring, equipment disconnects) - Testing and commissioning (factory and field acceptance, integrated system testing, documentation) - On-site training for facility personnel (operation, alarm response, maintenance) - Notable Requirements: - System must be self-contained and suitable for a recycling facility handling mixed materials - All labor, materials, equipment, engineering, permitting, testing, commissioning, training, and documentation must be provided - System must comply with local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; open to qualified contractors with relevant experience - Contract includes a base year with up to five one-year extension options

The Merced County Regional Waste Management Authority (MCRWMA) is soliciting proposals for the Highway 59 Transfer Station Fire Detection and Suppression project. The project involves furnishing and installing a complete self-contained fire detection and suppression system for a 15,000-square-foot single-stream recycling transfer station that handles mixed recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, and metals.
