The USDA Forest Service, Pike-San Isabel National Forests, South Platte Ranger District, is seeking stewardship and land management services for the Bighorn Retreat area in Colorado. - Government Buyer: - USDA Forest Service, Pike-San Isabel National Forests, South Platte Ranger District - Scope of Work: - Forest stand improvement, wildfire risk reduction, and habitat enhancement services - Cutting, forwarding, and decking of non-included timber material over 56 acres (Unit 1) - Mastication/chipping of slash piles and dead/down trees over 56 acres (Unit 1) - Optional mastication/chipping of dead and down trees over 6 acres (Unit 2) - No timber removal for sale; all work is for ecosystem restoration and hazard reduction - Requirements: - Strict GPS-based geo-fence boundaries for work areas - Quality assurance inspections required - Emphasis on promoting tree species diversity, age classes, and structural stages - Enhancement of habitats for threatened, endangered, and sensitive species, including aspen habitat - Small business set-aside; only companies eligible under the R2 Rocky Mountain Restoration Project BPA may respond - Key personnel and local community benefit requirements - No specific OEMs, part numbers, or commercial products are named; this is a service-based forestry management contract

Solicitation number 12363N26Q4199 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for This procurement is restricted to the approved companies eligible for call orders under the R2 Rocky Mountain Restoration Project BPA for the Pike-San Isabel National Forests in the state of Colorado.  This requirement may be awarded to one vendor as a BPA Call Order against BPA's previously solicited on the Government Point of Entry (GPE). The government will not provide feedback or evaluations to companies regarding their submissions in response to this notice that are not eligible for awards under the R2 Rocky Mountain Restoration Project BPA.  The Bighorn Retreat is part of the Harris park EA located on the South Platte Ranger District of the Pike National Forest, approximately 11 miles north of Bailey, Colorado. Land management objectives for the project area are summarized as follows: Increase Stand Resiliency— Promote a diversity of tree species, age classes, and structural stages that would lead to the development of uneven-aged stands.  Reduce the negative impacts that wildfire could have on watersheds, including the municipal watershed reserves and water system infrastructure for the cities of Denver, Aurora, Bailey, and other local municipalities.  Maintain and enhance threatened, endangered and sensitive species habitats, and other important wildlife habitats over the next 20 – 30 years – Promote the perpetuation of aspen for wildlife habitat.   Timber removal is not included. The period of performance is Date of award through September 30, 2027
