NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's Planetary Environment Laboratory is seeking to upgrade its thermal vacuum chamber with a new thermal conditioning unit. - Sole source procurement for one (1) CryoDax 8 Low Temperature Chiller System from MYDAX, INC - The unit must: - Support two independent fluid loops with temperature range from -60°C to +100°C - Allow automated ramp and soak functions via remote PC Ethernet control - Operate on 208VAC 60Hz 3-phase power - Exclude silicone heat transfer fluids - Vendor must supply test run data prior to shipment - The upgrade supports Moon 2 Mars science investigations and Tier II technology development - Performance location: NASA Goddard Space Flight Center - NAICS code: 334516 - Interested vendors may submit capability statements, but MYDAX, INC is currently determined to be the only source - Period of performance: Testing begins December 2026, first phase concludes mid-2027, additional tests through end of 2028

Description

VENDORS MUST REFERENCE THE TRACKING NUMBER IF SUBMITTING A CAPABILITY STATEMENT.

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for 1 CryoDax 8 Low Temperature Chiller System thermal conditioning unit. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to MYDAX, INC: 12260 SHALE RIDGE LN | AUBURN, CA 95602-8400 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that MYDAX, INC is the sole provider of 1 CryoDax 8 Low Temperature Chiller System thermal conditioning unit.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 7/22/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
