Description

This program aims to develop and provide education, training, and outreach regarding the FDA's Produce Safety Rule to produce farmers who are members of federally recognized Tribes. It seeks to help Tribal farmers access appropriate technical assistance and may include those not currently required to comply with the rule but interested in doing so. The program emphasizes consideration of Tribal history, culture, and regional agricultural practices. The funding instrument is a cooperative agreement with an expected award amount of $500,000 for one award.
