Description

This program supports the Short Line Safety Institute in its efforts to improve safety and safety culture in the short line and regional railroad industry. The grant will support the mission, vision, and strategic goals of SLSI to implement its Four Pillars of activities: safety culture assessments, education and training, communications, and research. The Short Line Safety Institute is the only entity eligible to apply for this grant. The funding amount is $2,425,000 with one expected award. There is no cost sharing or matching requirement for this discretionary transportation grant.
