The Surface Transportation Board announces the filing of a notice regarding the abandonment of approximately 11.14 miles of rail line by Minnesota Northern Railroad, Inc. in Norman and Polk Counties, Minnesota. The rail line extends from milepost 40.20 near the north end of the Marsh River Bridge south of Shelly, Minn., to milepost 51.34 near the north side of Golf Course Lane, north of Climax, Minn. The notice certifies that no local freight traffic has moved over the line in the past two years and that overhead traffic can be rerouted. Environmental and historic preservation reports have been filed and a Draft Environmental Assessment will be issued.
