Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a notice designating one new reference method for measuring carbon monoxide (CO) and three new equivalent methods for measuring particulate matter (PM2.5, PM10, and PM10-2.5) in ambient air. This action corrects and replaces the original designation notice due to an error. The designated methods are automated monitors utilizing gas filter correlation and optical mass spectroscopy technologies. These methods are acceptable for use by States and other air monitoring agencies for compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
