Description
The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a qualified contractor to operate and manage its LEED-certified Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility (PHHWCF). The facility serves residents of Thousand Oaks and unincorporated Ventura County, processing over 13,000 carloads and managing more than 500,000 pounds of hazardous materials annually. The contractor will provide full-service operations including staffing, transportation, disposal, VSQG services, support for the Material Reuse Program, and potentially operate the door-to-door collection program. The project includes a pre-proposal meeting, proposal submission, and evaluation based on understanding, experience, approach, sustainability, cost, and compliance. The contract period is from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2029.
