The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking a contractor to provide turnkey construction services for a metal awning structure at its Southern Plains Agricultural Research Center in Somerville, Texas. - Government Buyer: - United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Southern Plains Agricultural Research Center - ARS Acquisition and Property Division (ARS-1232SA) - Products and Services Requested: - Metal engineered awning structure, approximately 32 x 100 feet, with 0.5 to 12 roof pitch, 26 gauge roof panels, red primed framing, bolted assembly, and concrete footings - 4-inch thick concrete slab with 12-inch deep and wide grade beam, 3000 psi concrete with #4 rebar - Site preparation including removal of topsoil, grading, compacting, select fill, and installation of 6-inch bed of crushed caliche gravel - Gutters and downspouts for water management - 56 LED vaportight lighting fixtures (PLT-80066), 65W, 5000K, 8580 lumens, surface mounted with conduit - 8-foot high 6-gauge commercial grade fencing with barbed wire, replacement of double wide swing gates with single sliding gate, and 4-foot wide walk-through gate - Turnkey construction and installation services, including all labor, materials, and coordination with site personnel - Notable Requirements: - Project is set aside for Total Small Business under NAICS 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) - Mandatory site visit for all bidders - Compliance with federal and local codes, Davis Bacon wage rates, and coordination to minimize research disruption - Submission of technical approach and documented experience required - No specific OEMs or brand requirements for the awning structure or other materials, except for the lighting fixtures (PLT-80066) - Estimated contract value is between $250,000 and $500,000 - Performance period is 180 calendar days from award, with work to begin within 10 days of contract award

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. 

Solicitation number 1232SA26Q0981 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Installation of metal awning structure to provide weather protection for critical pecan research equipment and implements at Somerville, TX.

This acquisition  is set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building.  The small business size standard is $45M  This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
