Description
VGN Resources Group Inc. will act as the Program Administrator for projects under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food's extension programming for environment and climate change. The supplier will provide specialized post-harvest apple storage advisory and extension services to support selected British Columbia apple packinghouses and the Ministry’s Tree Fruit Specialist. Services include site-specific technical support focusing on harvest maturity assessment, fruit receiving, pre-storage conditioning, storage management, and prevention of storage disorders. The supplier will assess current handling and storage practices, identify opportunities to reduce quality deterioration and losses, and provide technical review for an Apple Post-Harvest Best Practices Guide. Participation in knowledge-transfer activities such as seminars or webinars may also be required.
