Description
Alamance County is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to engineer, permit, install, test, and document a 144-strand single-mode fiber (SMF) route between 124 West Elm Street, Graham, NC 27253 and 780 Plantation Drive, Burlington, NC 27215. The project includes aerial construction, pathway engineering, pole attachments, make-ready coordination, fiber termination, and compliance with all regulatory and industry standards. The County seeks a high-quality, reliable, standards-compliant outside plant (OSP) fiber route with a required completion date of January 2027. The procurement will evaluate proposals based on overall value, functionality, long-term sustainability, and total cost of ownership rather than lowest price alone. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of the project including design, permitting, construction, testing, documentation, and commissioning.
