Tarrant County is seeking an annual contract for the scheduled and unscheduled pickup and disposal of biomedical and hazardous waste for its Public Health and Medical Examiner’s Office. - Government Buyer: - Tarrant County Purchasing Department, supporting Public Health and Medical Examiner’s Office - OEMs Referenced: - Sigma-Aldrich (SIGALD) - Serological Research Institute (SERI) - Products and Chemicals for Disposal: - Acetic Acid (SIGALD, 320099) - Acetone (SIGALD, 179124) - Ammonium Formate (SIGALD, 156264) - AP Spot Reagent (SERI, R558a) - Chloroform, Cuprous Chloride, and other laboratory chemicals - Waste Types and Quantities: - Biomedical waste: 250-300 boxes/year (scheduled and unscheduled pickups) - Pathological waste: 200-250 containers/year - Hazardous chemical waste: DNA extraction cartridges, formalin and water, inorganic salts solution, paraffin and xylene, spent acid in rinse water, spent organic solvents, liquid waste streams, spent organic halogenated solvents - Various container sizes (5 to 55 gallons) and pickup frequencies specified - Notable Requirements: - Vendors must comply with all hazardous waste handling and disposal regulations - Documentation and reporting required for all pickups and disposals - Award by section; all lines in a section must be bid - Adherence to Tarrant County’s Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) policy - Participation in a virtual pre-bid conference - Updated documentation required for contract renewals - Contract Structure: - Initial 12-month term with two optional 12-month renewals at firm pricing

Description

Tarrant County is requesting bids for the proper scheduled disposal of biomedical and hazardous waste pickup and disposal. This contract will be used by Public Health and the Medical Examiner’s Office. The awarded vendor(s) will receive a twelve (12) month contract, effective from the date of award or notice to proceed, with an option for two (2) additional twelve (12) month renewal periods at firm prices. A virtual pre-bid conference will be held to address questions from bidders.
