NIST's Material Measurement Laboratory is seeking to procure high-quality steel bars for reference specimen production: - Government Buyer: - National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Material Measurement Laboratory, Applied Chemicals & Materials Division - Products Requested: - 1 unit of AISI-SAE 4340 steel round bar (5/8" diameter) - Must meet NIST and AMS6414 specifications - Hardness not to exceed HRB=100, HV=252, HRC=24, or HB=245 - 1 unit of AISI 9310 steel round bar (5/8" diameter) - Must meet NIST and AMS6265 specifications - Hardness not to exceed HRB=100, HV=252, HRC=24, or HB=245 - Intended Use: - For producing ASTM Charpy V-notch reference specimens - Notable Requirements: - Strict compositional and microstructural standards per NIST and AMS - Delivery FOB destination to Boulder, Colorado - Delivery required within 60 days of award - Specific packaging and shipment requirements - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; steel must conform to AISI-SAE and AMS standards
