This document announces the availability of ASTM International consensus standards accepted by the FAA as a means of compliance to support issuance of special airworthiness certificates for light-sport category aircraft and kit-built aircraft. The FAA accepts specific ASTM standards for integration of light sport airplanes, gliders, powered-lift and multicopters, and gyroplanes. The acceptance includes FAA's acceptance of the underlying ASTM functional standards as detailed in the document. The effective date of acceptance is July 16, 2026, and comments are invited until August 17, 2026.
