Description
The Maritime Administration (MARAD) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) announce the final public hearing for the Blue Marlin Offshore Port (BMOP) Deepwater Port license application. The project involves the export of oil from the United States to foreign nations, located approximately 99 statute miles off the coast of Cameron Parish, Louisiana, with an approximate water depth of 162 feet. The BMOP Deepwater Port would allow for the loading of various grades of crude oil at flow rates up to 80,000 barrels per hour and accommodate Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with a maximum loading volume of approximately 2 million barrels per day, 365 days per year. Public hearings are scheduled for August 4 and 5, 2026, with opportunities for verbal and written comments.
