Description

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) announce the availability of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Blue Marlin Offshore Port (BMOP) Deepwater Port license application. The project involves constructing, owning, operating, and eventually decommissioning a deepwater port terminal approximately 99 statute miles off the coast of Cameron Parish, Louisiana, for the export of domestically produced crude oil. The FEIS analyzes potential environmental impacts and alternatives, including the no action alternative, to inform MARAD's decision on the license application. The port would allow loading of crude oil at flow rates up to 80,000 barrels per hour, with a maximum volume of approximately 2 million barrels per day, 365 days per year.
