Description
This Notice of Intent is for specialized post-harvest apple storage advisory and extension services to support selected British Columbia apple packinghouses and the Ministry’s Tree Fruit Specialist. The supplier will provide site-specific technical support focusing on harvest maturity assessment, fruit receiving, pre-storage conditioning, storage management, and storage disorder prevention. The work includes assessing current handling and storage practices to identify opportunities to reduce quality deterioration, cull rates, and storage losses, as well as providing technical review and validation for an Apple Post-Harvest Best Practices Guide. Participation in seminars, webinars, or knowledge-transfer activities is also required.
