Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. The U.S. Government is seeking vendors that may be able to perform this requirement in order to support a competitive procurement. Accordingly, the U.S. Government highly encourages all interested businesses (large and small) to respond to this source sought synopsis. In addition, small businesses, in all socioeconomic categories (including, 8(a) Business Development Program, Small Disadvantage Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned Small Business concerns), must describe their identifying capabilities in meeting the requirements at a fair market price, i.e., information which may help support a set-aside. 

This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Invitation for Bid (IFB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB or RFP in the future. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for any supply or service. Further, the U.S. Government is not seeking quotes, bids or proposals at this time and will not accept unsolicited proposals in response to this source sought notice. The U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice. Submittals will not be returned to the responder. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFQ or IFB or RFP, if any is issued. Requirement: The U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own” is acquiring two Silver Flutes with Gold head joints for members of the U.S. Army Band flute section. The specifications listed below conform to the standards with which the Soldiers are familiar in their training. This will ensure that they will be able to achieve the best accuracy, technical facility, intonation and tonal blend with their counterparts in the flute section. 

· One Burkart Phelan Flute with a 14K gold Burkart Flute Headjoint, 5/95 Platinum/Silver alloy body with sterling silver mechanism, Burkart traditional pinned mechanism, drawn tone holes, silver rings, ribs, and posts, French (open hole) model, pointed key arms, 0.016" / 0.40mm tubing, A=442, Inline G, C# trill, D# roller, B footjoint. Handmade in USA 

 · One Lillian Burkart Elite Flute - Sterling silver body, sterling silver mechanism, Burkart microLink pinless mechanism, soldered silver tone holes, silver rings, ribs, and posts, French (open hole) model, pointed key arms, white gold springs, Pisoni S2 and Lucien Deluxe pads, 0.018" / 0.45mm tubing, A=442, offset G, split E mechanism, C# trill, D# roller, B footjoint, with 

· Lillian Burkart Handcut Head Joint - 9K gold tube, 9K gold lip plate and 14K riser, silver crown. 0.014"/0.35mm tubing wall. S4 Cut. Handmade in USA. 

The contractor shall provide two Silver Flutes with Gold Head joints as described. The contractor’s quality control program is the means by which they assure themselves that their work complies with the requirement of the contract. As a minimum, the contractor shall develop quality control procedures that address the areas identified in “Performance Requirements Summary”. After acceptance of the quality control plan the contractor shall receive the contracting officer’s acceptance in writing of any proposed change to his QC system.  

In response to this source sought, please provide:
