Description

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains of at least 34 individuals and 114 associated funerary objects from the Furman Site in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. UWO has determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and objects and multiple Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after August 14, 2026, with requests for repatriation to be sent to the authorized representative at UWO.
