This notice concerns the intended disposition of Native American human remains and funerary objects by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Basin Region. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Basin Region (Salt Lake City, UT) - Subject of Notice: - Disposition of human remains and associated funerary objects (at least one lot of ceramics) recovered from Federal or Tribal lands near Navajo Reservoir, Archuleta County, CO - Legal Framework: - Action taken under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) - Eligible Recipients: - Lineal descendants, Indian Tribes, or Native Hawaiian organizations with priority as specified (including the Hopi Tribe, Jicarilla Apache Nation, Navajo Nation, and several Pueblo tribes) - Unique Requirements: - Written claims for disposition must be submitted by eligible parties - Process governed by NAGPRA regulations - No vendors, OEMs, or procurement of products/services involved; this is a statutory notice, not a contract opportunity

Description

The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Basin Region intends to carry out the disposition of human remains and associated funerary objects removed from Federal or Tribal lands. The disposition will be made to the lineal descendants, Indian Tribe, or Native Hawaiian organization with priority for disposition as stated in the notice. The human remains represent at least one individual of Native American ancestry, and the associated funerary objects include at least one lot of ceramics. Disposition may occur on or after August 14, 2026, and if no claim is received by July 15, 2027, the remains and objects will become unclaimed.
