Description
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture is requesting renewal of the approved information collection related to the Salmonella Initiative Program (SIP). The program offers incentives to meat and poultry slaughter establishments to control Salmonella by granting waivers of certain regulatory requirements if establishments test for Salmonella, Campylobacter, and other indicator organisms and share results with FSIS. There are no changes to the information collection, and the current approval will expire on January 31, 2027. Comments on the renewal request are invited until September 14, 2026.
