The U.S. Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin Air Force Base is seeking a contractor to restore two iconic static display aircraft: the B-17 and the SR-71. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Air Force, Armament Museum, 96th Test Wing Maintenance Unit (96 TW/MU), 96th Comptroller Squadron, and Air Force Test Center Operational Contracting Division at Eglin AFB - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or commercial vendors are named in the solicitation or attachments - Products/Services Requested: - Restoration services for one B-17 and one SR-71 static display aircraft - Includes corrosion removal, sheet metal repairs, repainting with Federal Standard polyurethane colors (37038 black, 37178 aluminum/silver, 31350 red, 27875 white) or commercial equivalents, and cosmetic touch-ups to museum quality standards - All labor, materials, safety equipment, tools, supervision, and transportation must be provided by the contractor - Strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including chemical authorization approved by base environmental and HAZMAT pharmacy - Use of new materials only; no refurbished or used equipment permitted - Contractor is liable for any damages and must coordinate with base authorities - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Restoration must meet museum quality standards per AFI 84-103 and technical orders - Work includes bird proofing, sealing, and detailed marking per technical specifications - Prohibition on use of Class I ozone-depleting substances - Small business set-aside under NAICS code 712110 - Firm fixed-price contract with an estimated value up to $34 million - All work must be completed by the specified deadline, with delivery on or before the end of the performance period

Description

The Contractor shall provide all personnel, safety gear and equipment, tools, materials, supervision, safety transportation, chemical authorization listing approved by the base environmental and HAZMAT pharmacy and other items necessary to perform aircraft restoration services at U.S. Air Force Armament Museum, Eglin AFB, FL as defined in the attached Statement of Work dated 7 May 2026.
