NASA and USGS Industry Event: Sustainable Land Imaging Commercialization Plan

NASA and USGS are announcing an Industry Week event to engage the commercial Earth observation sector for the Sustainable Land Imaging (SLI) Commercialization Plan. - Event will be held August 31 - September 4, 2026, at USGS Headquarters, Reston VA - Focus is on fostering a commercial ecosystem for Landsat-quality data products - Includes multispectral, hyperspectral, and thermal imagery compatible with Landsat standards - Data analytics and product generation services for land, water, fire, and other applications - Autonomous ground-based calibration and validation (Cal/Val) instruments for radiometric characterization - No specific procurement action, RFP, or RFI is issued at this time - Demonstration phase planned for FY 2027-2028 to test commercial solutions - Preparation for Landsat 10 launch in 2031 with phased product development - Industry stakeholders (data providers, analytics firms, instrument manufacturers) are encouraged to participate and review event details - No product part numbers, quantities, or vendor requirements specified

This SAM.gov special notice announces an Industry Event planned to start on August 31st, 2026. This SAM.gov notice does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will take action in this matter. Notices of interest to participate (NOIP), also called “tickets” or registration, should be submitted by Thursday, July 21st, 2026, on the Eventbrite link provided.

Before registering no later than July 21st, please open and read carefully the two attachments 1) Industry Event Overview (File name “Event Overview”) and 2) a copy of the text (File name “1stEmail”) sent by the NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System (NSPIRES) to Science Mission Directorate List Serv subscribers.

This announcement does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that NASA or USGS will take action in this matter.
