The U.S. Forest Service at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie is seeking construction services for the Grant Creek Culvert Replacement project. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Forest Service, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie - Scope of Work: - Construction services for two main line items: - Coldwater Road Culvert Removal and Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) - NW Boundary Road Culvert Removal and Streambed Simulation - Key construction components include: - Mobilization, construction survey and staking - Clearing and grubbing - Removal of existing culverts (including 170 LF of pipe culvert) - Roadway and structure excavation - Dewatering - Riprap placement (Class II) - Installation of precast concrete box culvert (12-foot span by 5-foot rise, 20 LF) - Underdrain system (6-inch) - Geotextile (Type III) - Aggregate surface course - Concrete barrier installation - Placement of conserved topsoil (3-inch) - Seeding, mulching (hydraulic or dry method), and planting - Rolled erosion control products (Type 2.D with natural netting) - Steel posts (3 lb), object markers (Type 3), and signs (Type III sheeting) - Temporary traffic control - Foundation gravel pad (1 inch minus) - Placed fish rest stop rock (FRS class CR - 3) and streambed simulated rock bed (class 6) - No specific OEMs, vendors, or part numbers are identified in the solicitation or attachments - Project is set aside for Small Business under NAICS 237310 (Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction) - Estimated contract value is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 - All work must comply with detailed specifications and environmental requirements

Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 12445526Q0087 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for MPF Grant Creek Culvert Replacement.

PROJECT SUMMARY: The USFS is pursuing a Purchase Order for the culvert replacement construction services on the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. Work includes but is not limited to staking, clearing and grubbing, structure excavation, dewatering, riprap placement, concrete barrier, conserved topsoil placement, mulching and seeding, erosion control, signing, and streambed simulation. Services shall be performed by the awardee in accordance with the specifications, terms, and conditions of this solicitation, including those found in the solicitation attachments.

SET-ASIDE: This solicitation is set aside 100% for Small Business entities under NAICS 237310 - Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction (Size Standard: $45M).
