This procurement opportunity is for customized marine diesel propulsion engines for Naval Special Warfare boats: - Government Buyer: - Department of the Navy - Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) - OEM Highlight: - Caterpillar is the sole Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the engines - Puckett Machinery Company is the sole-source provider and manufacturer of the customized configuration - Products & Quantities: - Two (2) customized Caterpillar 3126 7.2L Inline-6 marine diesel propulsion engines - Includes Centra Tortional Couplings for 11-meter Naval Special Warfare Rigid Inflatable Boats - Customizations: junction box, wiring harness, engine mounts, manual shut-off, FLOC system brackets/hoses, fuel filter arrangement, 100-amp alternator with modified bracket, water drain valve, marine gear oil cooler hoses, engine noise filter with custom bracket, pressure tested cooling system, 4-hour dyno testing with reporting, preservation with VCI oil, custom shipping stand with shrink wrap, hydraulic pump and engine isolation mounts shipped loose, and sea trials - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Engines must be fully configured, tested, preserved, and delivered ready for installation - Customizations ensure compatibility with existing propulsion systems on 11-meter Rigid Inflatable Boats - Engines must undergo 4-hour dynamometer testing and sea trials - Delivery includes detailed reporting and preservation for marine environments - Sole-source justification is based on the unique customizations and compatibility requirements

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.

The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk, Contracting Department, Norfolk, VA 23511, intends to solicit and award a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) sole-source contract for Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines with specialized configurations to Puckett Machinery Company (CAGE: 1JX26) using the policies and procedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12.

This notice is not a request for proposals or quotations; however, any challenges to this sole-source must be received in writing and sent to ethan.t.othersen.civ@us.navy.mil to be considered by the Government for the purpose of determining whether or not to compete the requirement. Challenges must include sufficient information to enable the Government to make a determination that an equivalent supply exists which would meet the Government's needs as stated therein. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
