Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, requires repairs to a deteriorated section of concrete within the stairwell of the Intake Tower at Tionesta Creek Lake. The repair is necessary to restore watertightness, prevent inundation of interior spaces during high-water events, and maintain safe access for project personnel. The deteriorated section of concrete is located at elevation 1116.5 and encompasses an area approximately 8 feet high from elevation 1116.5, 7 feet wide from the right wall, and at least 8 inches deep, or until the contractor encounters sound concrete. The contractor shall sound the concrete, mark the limits of demolition, and remove all unsound material. After demolition, a non-shrink, low-pressure injection grout shall be installed around the full perimeter of the existing concrete to reduce seepage from the gatewell into the stairwell. Reinforcement shall be installed, which includes horizontal, vertical, and bent-hook bars that are doweled and epoxied into the existing structure. All reinforcement must maintain a minimum clear cover of three inches. A concrete bonding agent shall be applied to all existing surfaces. A hydrophilic waterstop shall be installed along all vertical and horizontal joints to minimize future leakage. Formwork shall be set flush with the existing wall face, and new concrete shall be placed and vibrated to ensure full consolidation and a uniform finish. The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) is 237990 – Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $45,000,000.00. This procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. All interested and capable offerors are encouraged to submit a quote.
