NASA Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking specialized instrumentation to support propulsion testing: - Government Buyer: - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) - OEMs and Vendors: - Kistler Instrument Corporation is the specified OEM for all requested items - Products Requested: - 15 Quartz Accelerometers (Kistler 8044 or equivalent) - Measures up to 20,000 g, high sensitivity, wide temperature range, high resonance frequency - Includes calibration certificates - 15 In-Line Charge Converter Modules (Kistler 5050B0.5 or equivalent) - Provides constant gain, wide frequency response, compatible with accelerometers - Includes calibration certificates - 25 High-Insulating Cable Extensions (Kistler 1635C5 or equivalent) - High-insulation, low-noise, at least 5 meters long, wide temperature range - Services Requested: - Shipping and handling to MSFC Central Receiving, concurrent with item readiness - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All instrumentation must meet strict performance specifications (e.g., sensitivity, frequency, temperature, acceleration limits) - Calibration certificates required for all measurement devices - Compatibility between accelerometers, modules, and cables is essential

Description

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for High Resonant Frequency Shock Accelerometer Instrument Procurement. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to KISTLER INSTRUMENT CORPORATION under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that KISTLER INSTRUMENT CORPORATION is the sole provider of High Resonant Frequency Shock Accelerometer Instrument Procurement

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334519.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 7/17/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
