Description
The National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP) is a coordinating program involving four agencies: FEMA, NIST, NSF, and USGS. FEMA awards competitive grants to nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education with the skills to develop and implement regional (multi-state) and/or national earthquake risk mitigation activities. This funding supports multi-state and national activities, including support for Eastern and Western assistance regions, seismic community professional development, business sector outreach, and annual earthquake preparedness drills (ShakeOut). All funded activities must align with NEHRP's vision, mission, and strategic goals.
