The City of Duarte is seeking a contractor for the FY26/27 CDBG ADA Curb Ramps Project, managed by its Community Development/Public Works Division. - Government Buyer: - City of Duarte, Community Development/Public Works Division (Los Angeles County) - Scope of Work: - Construction of ADA-compliant curb ramps and related street improvements - Includes traffic control, demolition, cold milling and overlay of asphalt pavement, construction of Portland cement concrete (PCC) sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and ADA ramps - Installation of detectable warning surfaces, adjustment of manhole frames/covers, relocation of signage, installation of wheel stops, new striping, and survey staking - Products/Materials Requested: - Asphalt concrete (AC) pavement (40 tons overlay, 230 SF full-depth) - PCC curb and gutter (410 LF), PCC sidewalk (1,200 SF), ADA curb ramps (870 SF) - Detectable warning surfaces (14 units), river rock embedded in concrete (150 SF) - Wheel stops (5 units), signage, and thermoplastic striping - Notable Requirements: - Contractor must hold a valid Class "A" license - Compliance with California and federal labor standards, including prevailing wage and labor compliance monitoring - Pollution liability insurance naming the City and relevant county agencies as additional insureds - Mandatory pre-bid meeting, bid security, and strict labor compliance - Project duration is 25 working days - No specific OEMs or product brands are specified; materials and construction must meet provided specifications

Description

This project involves traffic control, demolition of existing improvements within the right-of-way, grinding existing pavement, placement of asphalt concrete overlay, construction of Portland cement concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, ADA ramps, installation of detectable warning surfaces, adjustment of manhole frames or covers, removal and replacement of existing signage and striping, and other necessary appurtenances as described in the plans and specifications. The project requires a Class "A" Contractor's License and compliance with California Labor Code Section 1771.4 and federal labor standards. The City of Duarte will award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 30, 2026, and bids are due by August 6, 2026.
