BC Hydro requires specialized consulting services to support the Vancouver Island Transmission Reinforcement Project by developing industry best practices for the safe de-oiling and decommissioning of aging submarine cables affected by fatigue damage. The scope includes expert advice on cable removal from the seabed, decommissioning activities, and the installation of new AC cables within the same corridor. Due to the highly specialized nature of the work, BC Hydro issued a Notice of Intent to direct award a contract to a qualified consultant with extensive relevant experience and recognized expertise in the field. The delivery or completion date is December 26, 2026. This opportunity is subject to Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and all responses should be in English.
