Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announces no change in regulation to adjust for inflation the amount of civil monetary penalties allowed within VA's authorities for 2026. This decision follows the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act requirements and is due to the unavailability of October 2025 Consumer Price Index data caused by a government shutdown. Consequently, VA will continue to use the 2025 civil monetary penalty levels without any inflation adjustment for 2026.
