The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking a contractor to provide daily vehicle transport services for state-owned vehicles. - Government Buyer: - Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas (DPS) - Main office in Austin, Texas - Scope of Services: - Pickup, transport, and delivery of DPS-owned vehicles (sedans, pickup trucks, SUVs, and others) - Vehicles may be operational, disabled, or wrecked - Approximately 6 vehicles per day transported from DPS Headquarters in Austin to DPS Surplus Operations in Georgetown - Same-day, one-way transport required during business hours (Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm) - Contractor must provide all personnel, labor, materials, and equipment - Key Requirements: - No vehicles may be left overnight; all must be delivered same day - Contractor must coordinate schedules and communicate estimated arrival times with DPS - Compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) if applicable - Active Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TXDMV) certificate and USDOT number required - Contractor responsible for any vehicle damage during transport - Insurance, bonds, and criminal background checks required - Participation in Texas HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) program and possible VetHUB program - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or vehicle manufacturers are named; the procurement is for transportation services only - Contract Details: - Contract term through August 31, 2031, with a possible six-month extension - No guaranteed minimum quantity; services are as-needed - Estimated contract value is approximately $2,000,000

Description

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is requesting bids for pickup, transport, and delivery of DPS owned vehicles from specified locations in Texas. The contractor will provide all personnel, labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the vehicle transport services. Vehicles to be transported include sedans, pickup trucks, SUVs, and others, which may be running or not. The contract term starts on the effective date and expires on August 31, 2031, with possible extension for up to six months.
