The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking to procure a complete jetboat package to support fisheries and aquatic science research in California. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Cooperative Research Units, Ecosystems Mission Area, National Acquisition Branch - Contracting Officer: Brian Baker - OEMs and Vendors: - Mercury (specified for the 4-stroke 80hp jet engine) - Products/Services Requested: - Aluminum outboard jetboat, minimum 18 feet in length and 60 inches in bottom width - Features: T-top, glass fold-down windshield, two passenger seats, center-console driving station, bench seat for two, multiple storage compartments, aluminum thickness (bottom and transom) at least 0.160 inches, navigation lights, bilge pump with hose, battery shutoff switch, open working area on bow - Outboard motor equal to or better than a 4-stroke Mercury 80hp jet engine - Requirements: At least 35 amp/441 watt water-cooled voltage regulator, minimum 2.1L displacement, installed with cables and fuel lines, motor mount designed to reduce center of gravity and roll-over potential, exhaust and mufflers to reduce noise - Trailer designed for the specified jetboat - Features: Loading guides, standard electrical hookup, running and brake lights, winch, rear step, submersible lights, tie straps, towing accessories - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All items must be delivered within 45 days of contract award - The outboard motor must be specifically designed for jetboat use and meet or exceed Mercury 80hp 4-stroke specifications - The trailer must be compatible with the specified boat size and include all necessary towing and safety accessories - The procurement is a Small Business Set-Aside

Description

The USGS, Cooperative Research Units in Reston, VA, supporting the Ecosystems Mission Area requests the purchases of an equal to or larger than 18-ft long and 60-inch bottom width jetboat, with an equal to or larger 4-stroke Mercury 80hp jet engine, and a trailer with all associated towing accessories (i.e., tie straps, lights, winch). The primary use is to support the field program of the California Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit for sampling fishes and associated habitats in a variety of freshwater systems pursuant to research objectives associated with fisheries management and conservation, aquatic sciences, resource conservation, and to support the regulatory responsibilities of the Bureau of Reclamation¿s Klamath Fall area office.
