The Minneapolis Health Department is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations to pilot culturally specific, community-led mental health and wellbeing supports at the newly established South Minneapolis Community Safety Center. The initiative aims to strengthen community capacity to support mental wellbeing by increasing skills, awareness, social connection, belonging, and access to culturally meaningful healing opportunities. The goal is to not only respond to mental health concerns but also to promote resilience, reduce disparities, prevent mental health challenges, and foster thriving communities. Applicants are encouraged to propose community-led, relationship-centered, and culturally grounded approaches that complement existing clinical systems while expanding access to prevention and early support opportunities.
