The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 9 (NCO 9), is conducting market research for a comprehensive lab staffing contract at the Memphis VA Medical Center. - Government Buyer: - Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 9 (NCO 9), Memphis VAMC - Services Requested: - Cytopreparation Technician (1): Specimen preparation, staining, slide preparation, and supply management - ASCP/AMT Certified Medical Technologist (1): Patient testing, specimen preservation, quality control, and instrument maintenance - Pathologists Assistant (1): Anatomic pathology, specimen preparation, postmortem exams, training, and workflow supervision - Phlebotomists/Medical Technicians (11): Routine and STAT testing, specimen collection, evaluation, and quality control - Medical Transcriptionist (1): Transcription from oral dictation and voice recognition in a pathology/lab setting - Key Requirements: - Medical Technologists must hold ASCP or AMT certification - All staff must pass background checks and comply with HIPAA and VA policies - Contract performance may be reduced as permanent VA employees are hired - No specific OEMs or product part numbers are referenced; this is a staffing and services requirement - The contract includes a base year with four option years, subject to VA funding and staffing needs
