Description
History Colorado has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory identified human remains of Native American ancestry with cultural affiliations to Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The remains originate from various counties within Colorado, including the Northwest region and the Front Range and Great Plains regions. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after August 10, 2026, and written requests for repatriation must be sent to History Colorado.
