Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), History Colorado has completed an inventory of human remains and determined a cultural affiliation between the remains and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory includes human remains representing at least 11 individuals likely Native American and archaeological in age, originating from locations within present-day Colorado. Repatriation of the human remains may occur on or after August 10, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be sent to the authorized representative at History Colorado.
