USDA ARS is seeking qualified small business roofing contractors for a major roof replacement project at the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR) in Peoria, IL. - Government Buyer: - United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Acquisition and Property Division, National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR) - Project Scope: - Complete roof replacement for Building 001's South Wing (base), North Wing (Option 1), and Southeast Administrative Wing (Option 2) - Removal of existing roofing and flashing, repair/replacement of damaged wood and metal roof decking - Installation of new three-ply asphalt built-up roof system with aggregate surface and insulation (minimum R-20) - Membrane and sheet metal flashing, accessories for watertight roof system - Provision of a 20-year manufacturer no-dollar-limit watertightness warranty and 2-year contractor workmanship warranty - Services Required: - Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) services for roof condition assessment, design review, and validation prior to work - Notable Requirements: - Mandatory site visit for bidders - Compliance with USDA security, OSHA standards, and submission of performance/payment bonds - Project set aside for Total Small Business under NAICS 238160 (Roofing Contractors) - Roof design must be approved by a Registered Roof Consultant, Registered Architect, or Professional Engineer - Estimated Contract Value: - $2,500,000 to $3,500,000 - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are named; bidders may propose suitable commercial roofing systems meeting the technical specifications.
