Description

This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks proposals from qualified insurance carriers to provide group accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, short term disability, and potentially pet insurance products to employees of Chesapeake Public Schools. The current provider is UNUM, and the new contract is to begin January 1, 2027, with open enrollment in October 2026. The District requires the insurance carrier(s) to offer voluntary insurance products suited to their employees and will not consider responses from non-insurance carriers. Gallagher Benefit Services serves as the insurance consultant to coordinate and monitor the program on behalf of the District.
